Financial & Insurance

What are the fees in your office?
We are as straightforward as possible with our fees. $50 for the initial exam which goes towards the treatment cost if you proceed with us. $799 per crown whether that is one crown, or a full mouth. No charge for build-ups, bite adjustments, or recementing our crown within 1 year of placement. No charge for a remake if our crown breaks.
How is it that these crowns are so cheap?

Our dentists have thought for years how to provide crowns efficiently without sacrificing quality.

  • We do the labwork in-house, cutting out the middle man.
  • By exclusively providing crowns, it reduces our overhead cost for extra staff and materials that a general dental office would need.
  • We are out of network with all insurance companies, and our patients with PPO insurance file their own claims. This saves us the overhead of dealing with insurance, and we pass the savings onto you.

Thankfully, we don't need to cut corners on materials or equipment.

Are you an in-network Dental Provider?
No, but our price beats almost all in-network dental offices! If you have PPO dental insurance, you can still come see us – we will provide you with the paperwork to submit your own insurance claim.
I have PPO insurance, can I still get reimbursed from my insurance?
Yes! After your treatment, we will hand you the proper paperwork to file your own insurance claim.
Once I submit my insurance, how much will I get back?

Many patients receive between $200-$400 back if you have dental benefits remaining and the tooth is eligible for reimbursement. An accurate estimate on your reimbursement depends on a lot of factors including:

  • Are you over your annual maximum?
  • Does your maximum reset in January or a different month?
  • Has that tooth had dental work done on it recently?
  • If you've had a crown on that tooth already, does your insurance require a waiting period until another crown can be done (replacement clause)?
  • Have you paid your deductible this year?
  • Do they compensate at 50% or a different percent?
  • Does your insurance have a waiting period after you start with them before they cover a crown?
  • Do they accept the diagnosis for needing a crown?
  • Is it just for aesthetics in their opinion?
  • There are many other factors that can change the reimbursement.

We don’t provide the service to contact your insurance and help with these details. Feel free to use the online resources provided to you by your insurance company, and call your insurance 800 number on the back of your policy card for more information.

I have PPO insurance, how do I file my claim?
We will give you the insurance claim pre-filled out with your insurance company name, the procedure that we did, and the attached x-rays. Just send that in the mail to your insurance provider. Their address is typically listed on the back of your insurance card.
How does billing work at your office?
You pay for services after you receive them. Cash, card, or contactless payments only. No checks, money orders, or payment plans.

Clinical & Procedure

What are all the steps from start to finish to get my crown?
  1. All new patients need to fill out Medical History and Registration paperwork. It will save time to complete these prior.
  2. You will be directed to watch a short introductory video that answers the most common questions. Afterwards, our friendly staff can answer any additional questions you may have.
  3. Initial exam/diagnosis. Patients who schedule ahead will be given priority, but walk-ins are welcome. There is a $50 charge for the exam, but this charge will be applied to treatment you receive from us. Note: we are not a full service dental office, so the exam will be limited to the tooth/teeth that need crowns.
  4. Once the exam is completed and you have a diagnosis for a crown, we will schedule you for treatment. This is usually within a few days to a few weeks from the initial exam.
  5. Treatment visit. Your crown/crowns will be completed on the same day as your treatment day.
Do you have a late fee or a no-show fee?
Yes, the Crown Clinic no-show fee is $100 per crown on the schedule. For example, if you no-show a visit for 4 crowns, the fee would be $400. In order to keep costs low for you, we keep an efficient schedule for our dentists and our staff. We ask you to respect the other patients' time and our staff's time by showing up on time or giving us more than 24 business hours' notice. *If you are more than 15 minutes late for your treatment appointment, it will be considered a no-show. *It is considered a no-show if you cancel with less than 24 business hours' notice (for example, cancelling at 4pm on a Friday for an 8am Monday appointment is only 1 business hour's notice).
Will my tooth need a root canal?
If your tooth has deep decay, biting sensitivity and/or pain, it may need a root canal prior to a crown. We can refer you to an endodontist if indicated after the initial exam. Your tooth may need a root canal AFTER a crown with us, even if there was no pain initially. Sometimes a tooth nerve does not survive the stress of the crown procedure. Fortunately, this is uncommon. If it does occur, our crowns are strong enough to endure a root canal without needing replacement of the crown.
Can I bring in a treatment plan from my regular dental office?
Yes, you may. Whether you have an existing plan or not, we will need to have our own exam/diagnosis as is the standard for any dental office.
Will my crown color match my other teeth/crowns?
Yes, they will match very closely to your other teeth and crowns. However, no dentist or lab made crown will match a neighboring tooth or older crown perfectly. You may notice a difference under certain lighting conditions, especially for a single front tooth crown. If you require a closer match or have a high cosmetic need, we can do custom staining and glazing of the crown for an additional $800 per crown.
Do you offer sedation?
Yes, for mild anxiety we offer nitrous oxide gas for $200. This takes the edge off for most people with a low level of anxiety, but does not put you to sleep. If you have severe anxiety, we recommend you see a general dental office that can accommodate more levels of sedation to fit your needs.

Warranty & Aftercare

What should I expect after my crown procedure?
The numbness typically wears off in an hour or so, but could take more in some cases. You can expect some soreness at the injection site and possible cold sensitivity and biting sensitivity that can last a few days to a few weeks. You may have jaw tightness and soreness, otherwise known as trismus. This can last for months in rare cases, but is quickly improved with at-home exercises that we can teach you. In most cases the bite returns to normal after a couple of days, but if your bite feels off and does not settle after a few days, please come back in for an adjustment. There are 2 free bite adjustments per treatment.
Any special instructions for my new crown(s)?
Your Crown Clinic zirconia is ready for use! Wait one hour for the cement to cure fully. After that hour (and after full feeling has returned from the local anesthetic) you may use the crown like a normal tooth. Normal chewing is fine, and brush and floss that same night.

The Crown Clinic Lifetime Crown Breakage Warranty

The Crown Clinic provides a limited lifetime warranty for zirconia crowns placed by our office. Under this warranty, if the zirconia crown fractures or breaks during normal use, and the underlying tooth remains clinically restorable, The Crown Clinic will replace the crown at no charge to the patient.

This warranty covers replacement of the crown only. Monetary refunds will not be provided.

What Is Covered

This warranty includes:

  1. Fracture or breakage of the zirconia crown
  2. Structural failure of the crown under normal chewing conditions
  3. Re-cementation of the original crown if the crown becomes dislodged within one (1) year of placement, provided the crown and tooth remain clinically acceptable for re-cementation

What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not apply to conditions outside the control of The Crown Clinic, including but not limited to:

  • Tooth decay or recurrent decay
  • Gum disease (periodontal disease)
  • Bone loss
  • Fracture or damage to the natural tooth or root
  • Infection, abscess, or need for root canal treatment after crown placement
  • Bite changes or shifting teeth over time
  • Failure to follow recommended dental care or maintenance instructions
  • Treatment performed or modified by another dental office
  • Cosmetic concerns, including shade preferences or minor aesthetic differences

Conditions of Coverage

To qualify for warranty coverage:

  1. The patient must notify The Crown Clinic within thirty (30) days of discovering the problem.
  2. The crown and tooth must be evaluated by The Crown Clinic before any replacement is determined.
  3. The tooth must remain clinically restorable in the sole professional judgment of The Crown Clinic.
  4. The patient must maintain reasonable oral hygiene and dental health.
  5. The patient must return for any recommended adjustments related to the crown or bite.

Limitations

  • This warranty applies only to the original crown placed by The Crown Clinic on the original treated tooth.
  • The warranty covers replacement of the crown only and does not include other dental treatment that may become necessary.
  • If the tooth cannot be restored or retained, this warranty becomes void.
  • Repeated failure caused by unmanaged contributing factors may void future warranty coverage.
  • Final determination of warranty eligibility shall be made solely by The Crown Clinic.

If a Claim Is Covered

If the claim qualifies under this warranty, The Crown Clinic may:

  • Remove the damaged crown
  • Evaluate the condition of the tooth
  • Modify or strengthen the tooth preparation if clinically necessary
  • Fabricate and place a replacement zirconia crown at no charge

No Other Warranties

This limited warranty is provided exclusively by The Crown Clinic and replaces any other expressed or implied warranties to the extent permitted by law. Dental treatment outcomes can vary based on individual biology, oral habits, health conditions, and patient compliance. No guarantee is made regarding the longevity of the natural tooth or surrounding structures.

 In a nutshell: if your crown ever breaks, we'll replace it for free. If the tooth or crown fails due to anything outside of our control, the warranty does not apply. These factors include: decay, gum disease, tooth breaking off at the gumline, root fracture, etc.
